Farm Operations Manager - Moree NSW
Our client is a corporate farming business with a diverse portfolio of broadacre dryland cropping properties nationally. The property is large scale and produces both summer/winter cropping programs.
We are seeking a Farm Operations Manager for one of their key properties in the Moree region. This role is a very hands-on role working alongside the Farm Manager and directing and supporting both permanent employees and contractors in a tight knit team in a highly integrated business. You will drive the team to meet and exceed the farms KPI's and work within budgets.
A modern hi tech farm running a full controlled traffic system, utilising the latest precision ag technologies and machinery.
Diverse and fast paced you will manage the full fleet of machinery, vehicles and equipment, all ground operations across the properties and all staff.
You will also provide assistance implementing the annual farm plan, working budgets, scheduled maintenance programs (machinery and infrastructure), & HSE policies.
You will ideally be a cropping professional, with strengths in modern farming machinery - tractors, seeders, harvesters, spray rigs, trucks etc. Ability to use precision Ag software and collect / report data for the management team to use in decision making throughout the season.
Good working knowledge of supply chain and grain storage/logistics/handling will also be required.
You will also be experienced and have a level of comfort working within a corporate environment (e.g. safety management experience, etc.).
The role calls for someone who understands the urgency of large scale cereal farming, with an emphasis on forward planning. You must be well organised, methodical and timely.
