Shape the Future of Sustainable Forestry
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainable forest management? We're seeking a Lead Planner to drive the development and execution of operational plans for an established Forestry enterprise.
This critical role involves:
Strategic & Tactical Planning: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive plans across diverse forestry programs (silviculture, roading, harvesting, haulage, fire management, and more).
Operational Excellence: Develop and implement safe, cost-efficient, and environmentally sound work programs, ensuring alignment with commercial, risk, and stewardship objectives.
Budget Management: Contribute to budget development, analysis, and management, ensuring targets are met and resources are optimized.
Innovation & Improvement: Identify and champion innovative work practices to drive operational excellence and profitable growth.
Forest Management Systems: Optimize the use of forest management systems, driving reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement.
Stewardship & Compliance: Provide expert advice and support on stewardship activities, ensuring compliance with standards and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including indigenous partners.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor or diploma level qualification;
▪ At least 5 years’ experience in a commercial planning role with strategic and tactical planning;
▪ Unrestricted “C” class drivers’ licence;
▪ Fire accreditations highly regarded
▪ Experience in the use of Remsoft (or other tactical planning program), Excel, and ArcGIS Pro would be highly regarded.
